I currently tutor children in grades 6-12 afterschool and on the weekends.  Many of my students are children of lower-income parents who have seen me tutoring kids at a downtown library and have approached me to help their child.  I do not charge alot but know these kids need my help and that sometimes it is difficult for them to pay.  I would like to be able to tutor other children in similar situations without overburdening their parents and be able to provide for my own family.

I am the father of 3 children and married 15 years.  I love to learn and love to teach children.  I tutor all subjects as well as study skills. 

Initially I meet with the student and assess their need, meet with the parents to discuss their goal, and then with both student/parent to make sure everyone has buy-in on the milestones and goals.

I  prepare unique weekly assignments and worksheets, as well as work on class assignments for each one of my students.  I am available to them via email or phone to share the great news that they've passed the test or to give them a quick boost of confidence. 

I am proud to say that most of my students stay with me no more than two years because they gain the skills and confidence they need to move on.  I am very happy when a student no longer needs my help.
